Open Positions

Postdoctoral Fellow – CLEAN trial – Our lab is currently looking for a postdoctoral fellow with biostatistics and epidemiology training to work with the data being generated by the CLEAN trial, a cluster-randomized controlled trial evaluating the impact of a multi-component chlorination intervention in health care facilities on neonatal and maternal enteric infections. The trial is a collaboration with KEMRI, Global Remit, and CARE. The candidate would help oversee all data management and data cleaning processes for the trial, as well as contribute to data analysis and manuscript writing.

The Pickering lab is always open to inquiries from postdoctoral fellows interested in research related to environmental surveillance of infectious disease, environmental epidemiology, and using genomics to track transmission of pathogens and antibiotic resistance across the human-environment interface. To inquire about open positions please email Dr. Pickering a single PDF containing your CV, three references (names and email addresses), and a cover letter stating why you are interested in the lab.

Note: applying for external fellowships is encouraged, such as the NSF eFellows program, the NSF Postdoc Fellowship in Biology, the Miller Fellowship, and the NIH F32 and K99.

PhD Students – Dr. Pickering is a member of the core faculty and advises PhD students in the following programs: Environmental Engineering, Bioengineering (rotation students are welcome), and Environmental Health Sciences.

MS Students – Dr. Pickering advises MS students in Environmental Engineering and in Development Engineering.

Undergraduate Students – Undergraduate students in Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, and other related disciplines are encouraged to apply to open research positions posted by our lab in the URAP program.
